Sample Member Response — Lesson 1 The last time I intentionally sat in silence for ten minutes was probably several months ago. I usually reach for my phone whenever things get quiet. The constant news, social media, financial pressure, and feeling that I should always be accomplishing something overwhelm me the most. I invite scrolling, YouTube, and background television into my life. Work messages, notifications, advertising, and other people’s expectations feel more imposed on me. Peace would look like waking up without immediately checking my phone, knowing what deserves my attention, and being able to finish the day without feeling like I missed something important. When was the last time you sat in silence for 10 minutes? During the ten-minute exercise, my mind kept looking for stimulation. I felt restless at first, but then I began noticing how many unfinished thoughts I carry around. I’m starting to understand that I may not be broken—I may simply be adapting to too much noise.
