Today’s Pre-Market is looking relatively BULLISH as Futures is sitting 📈 0.59%, as we close off the 1st trading week in February. The market is sitting 📉 -2.03% after yesterday’s loss of -1.23%! Looks like the market is wanting to make a small comeback after a week of testing investor tolerance and erasing over 1 Trillion Dollars in the market! Investor sentiment has shifted as the Software vs AI battle heated up. Then we had a few MAG 7 earnings which brought us the actuals vs estimates and another term that has been thrown around like business cards! “CAPEX”! What does that even mean? “Capitol Asset Purchase Expenditure”. Think of it like a company buying something to help it grow or operate long-term. Buying new machinery, building a warehouse, upgrading data centers or even infrastructure for cloud/AI deployment! Well why does this matter? Investors use this metric to judge future earnings potential which can cause price action to move up or down! So how much are these companies willing to spend to stay ahead? Well for example, AMZN 📉 under -8%, reported a CAPEX of (approx) $200 Billion in 2026, which has investors leery! Then we saw MSFT, on Jan 28 who reported a CAPEX of (approx) $37 Billion. Meanwhile they are now 📉 -8.5% month-to-date! - thing significant to report about the streets other than rumors of Trump threatening to sue the new Fed Chairman, Kevin Warsh, if he did not cut interest rates. Inflation is still sitting at 2.71% as of December 2025, with a goal of 2% - (My apologies, I posted TODAY’s ED Yesterday - Yesterday we had Unemployment Claims and JOLTS Job Openings) There is significant ED for today. Prelim UoM Consumer Sentiment, which gives us a relative level of current and future economic conditions - Prelim UoM Inflation Expectations, which gives us a percentage that consumers expect the price of goods and services to change during the next 12 months;!
