Paul wrote:
“I appeal to you… to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” (Romans 12:1)
This verse doesn’t mean you need to have the body of a champion or look like a bodybuilder. Paul wasn’t talking about image.
He was talking about surrender.
🛑 Self-Worship (Idolatry)
- Training to be admired.
- Staring at the mirror for validation.
- Building your body but ignoring your soul.
- Measuring worth by comparison.
✅ Stewardship (Worship)
- Training for strength to serve your family, mission, and God.
- Honoring the temple of the Holy Spirit.
- Using discipline in the gym to fuel discipline in life.
- Offering your energy back to God daily.
Paul’s call was simple:
don’t crawl off the altar. Be a living sacrifice.
Use your body — whatever condition it’s in — not for vanity, but for obedience.
💡 Reflection for the week:
Am I using my body to glorify myself, or to glorify God?
