Endless Chord Progressions
This one's in D minor and it's a weekend ear-worm.
This piece is called... "Lick My Love Pump"
(yes, like the “Spinal Tap” line - if you haven't seen that movie, are you really a musician?)
Quick chord notes if you want them:
Dm — Bb — F — A7
Dm — pointer on the 1st fret of the high E, ring finger on the 3rd fret of the B, middle on the 2nd fret of the G. You can add the extra finger up top for a fuller voicing or leave it off, either works.
Bb — basically your A shape slid up to the 4th fret. Three fingers, same shape, new home.
F — skip the full barre. I just play the bottom two notes of the shape and let the high E ring open. Fuller than you'd think, way easier on the hand.
A7 — your full A shape minus the middle finger. That's it.
The numbers nerds in the room: it's a i — VI — III — V7.
Once you get the changes under your fingers, mess with it. Strum it straight, arpeggiate it, slow it down, double the tempo. I think you'll find yourself coming back to this one more than once.
Drop your recording below… We want to hear what you do with it.
