[Do not walk alone] Something Happened Today. >>> "The Shift" Story <<< & "The 2nd Lesson"
Community. Josh here. (A note from the very beginning that “the win” was realizing that a shift had occurred… read on.)
Not sure how many are here or how many will read this but… I must confess.
I have been trying, doing my business as a siloed entrepreneur for X amount of years ( too embarrassed to say.)
Idea.
Build.
Sell.
Overwhelm.
Crash.
Repeat.
(You may know this story all too well.)
But, something happened today and I am compelled to share.
Here’s how today went down.
(Note: I am a member of an AI Community, of which, I reference below. We'll call the community: ABC)
- 7am - Cohort call with 3 others from the ABC community. Random. Get together and try to collaborate and make something of our desired momentum.
- 8am - Call done. Meeting ended.
- Result? Met some nice people, (amazing people). Raised energy. Realized others out there want the same goal I have.
- Agreed to continue to meet.
Simple enough…
(…wait for it.)
- Got an email thread from a few cohort group members who felt the same way I did during the call and do now, that we’d all like to find ways to work together… that the synergy was unmistakable.
- Added my exact same sentiment “let’s explore project collaboration”
(…wait for it… the shift reference is coming…)
- Scheduled a follow up to talk with one group member about some projects I’d like to partner on.
- Met with this person in the afternoon.
- Great call.
- Exciting possiblities.
(…the shift… this… is when it began… read on!)
- left my work place
- continued to “feel” what I had felt on that call
- drove around town
- went home
- the feeling did not leave
- sat down to continue a conversation with my wife as we fixed dinner and prepared the table.
Then, I turned to my wife and said, “Sarah, can I tell you how I’m feeling right now? Can I share with you what happened today?”
And so here, NOW, is the SHIFT that this post is about. I said something like:
“You know, I’ve been working on my own to rise up, to bring stability, and build a business. And, today, I got closer than I ever have to bringing people into my word and really launch things in a major way. I mean, I met with some people this morning, had a follow up call, then couldn’t stop thinking about all of the leverage and sales activity and closed deals and clients I could help, if I just had people to work with me. I mean, I can just see and feel it, that, things would explode for us.”
I don’t know, who is ready to hear this today, but it’s so clear now for me. And that’s why I ended that conversation with my wife with this:
“I’m going to be fully committed to bring people into my world and partner on projects as fast as humanly possible.”
And so, here, right now, I am starting that process.

P.S. This post was not written by AI, no, not one piece of it.
P.P.S. The 2nd lesson is: that, the more you have your roles split, defined, outlined before talking to a potential partner, the better. Because, my appointment later in the day with one of the cohort members taught me that, having roles and responsibilities clearly defined for an audit project or AIOS engagement would have helped this potential partner say “Yes” or “No” quicker. It’s kind of like a discovery call in and of itself. ;) Be prepared.
