Doing things that intentionally challenge you
I know we don't like it. I love comfort and being comfortable. But......, nothing grows in comfort. The world we live in right now offers us many avenues to escape and be comfortable, but this comfort has had an adverse effect upon us individually and as a species. Rest and recovery are necessary, but when we get too much, it starts having a diminishing return for us. When we do not stress the body intentionally, we are left with an internal stress that is detrimental to our lives. Whether this is deciding to workout, go for a walk every day, eat better, do a cold water plunge, work in our garden, or any other number of things that get us moving, the body needs exhaustion from work, not exhaustion from stress. Everyone of us are at different places physically, but we can all do something to get ourselves moving, sweat and work, It is good for the soul.
