Welcome to the Inner Alchemy Recovery Reset Community
Unlike other programs, we're a real community of people who have lived experience with substance use disorder, who have chosen to take back the control of our lives, who do not let those experiences define us. • We are not "addicts" -- we are people with lived experience with substance use, who are on a recovery journey. • We are not "powerless". We choose to take responsibility for the transformation in our lives because we understand the point of power and autonomy is ALWAYS within us alone. • We choose to come together as community, because so often, the recovery landscape is fraught with sterile, outdated and unhealthy "meetings", gatekeeping and ideologies that belong more in religious institutions not in places of meaningful healing and recovery. Our community isn't moderated by a clueless behavioural health practitioner, whose only experience with addiction and recovery comes from what they were taught in academic curricula. As the group's founder and moderator, I come with 20 years' recovery experience after my own struggle with substance use disorder and a 39-year track record of providing compassionate, evidence-based and effective counseling and coaching as a practitioner. This is my way of giving back. And I am grateful you have come to be part of our recovery family!

Talking About Harm Reduction
Recovery isn't a one-size-fits-all journey, and it certainly isn't a straight line. Harm reduction is often called the "Middle Path"—it’s a pragmatic, compassionate approach that prioritizes keeping people alive and healthy today so they have the chance to make different choices tomorrow. By meeting people exactly where they are, we replace judgment with support and autonomy. The data is clear: harm reduction doesn’t just save lives; it builds a bridge to formal treatment and creates safer communities for everyone. Key Pillars of the Approach: - Pragmatic Compassion: Shifting the focus from elimination to immediate safety. - Autonomy as a Catalyst: Empowering individuals to be the primary agents of their own change. - Progress Over Perfection: Recognizing that every small, positive step is a victory for the brain and the soul. - Whether it’s through syringe access, Naloxone distribution, or simply offering a non-judgmental ear, we can treat addiction as the complex health issue it is, rather than a moral failing. What does "meeting people where they are" look like in your community? #HarmReduction #RecoverySupport #PublicHealth #CompassionateCare #EndTheStigma #InnerAlchemy
