Darkness
In the dark scary looms
Nightmares and horror blooms
Imagination open to flowers
Tree limbs break, feeding fear towers
Every little sound grows an echo
Hearts race, eyes of red glow
In darkness children get scared
Their little tears roll their fears aired.
Give them hugs and reassurance
For you are their comfort and endurance
Some children darkness is not lack of light
Crowds, loud noises, strange places, things that
Just don’t feel right
It’s the inability to hear, fear of the unknown
It’s people in their bubble, their personal zone
Their little selves maybe only know to cry
They don’t understand or even know why
It’s a heart breaking scene to witness
Their little hearts never asked for this mess
When they are older they sit and cry
They look at others and ask God why
Why am I the way that I am? They say
Why was it me this price I must pay
God truthfully who could answer such
For who on earth knows that much?
I can’t take away their darkness or trouble
I can love them, accept them, respect their bubble
