The Reasons People Work & Why It Matters to Know
There are many reasons people work. They could be in their ideal field where they spent years training and studying to get the job. They could only be working to get a paycheck. They could be working because they feel aligned with the mission of the organizations and want to contribute. They could view it as their life mission. They could be working to climb the ladder to leadership or for success.
No matter what the reason a person works, as leaders, it is important to know why they are working. It's called the psychology of work. This changes across the lifespan.
