Today’s Little Wins
An exciting day at work. Three young, London based TikTok influencers came to do some filming with us. They were filming an educational piece about access for black males in to equestrianism and none of them had had any contact with horses before today. These young men were initially hard to engage with and seemed closed off to reality. Fast forward to the end of their session learning about horse communication and riding and I saw their true personalities. Their skin looked brighter and their eyes wider. Where expressionless black faces once were, these young men now had beautiful smiles of innocence and wonder. I do wonder to my self when was the last time these young men had smiled like this. I wondered when they had last let themselves be vulnerable, put trust in the unknown and live truly in the moment. It’s moments like this. 💕💕💕

British Equestrian’s new animated series to help make equestrianism welcoming and inclusive for all…
So… BE had created a small series of animated education resources with an aim to creating more welcoming and inclusive spaces for everyone involved in equestrianism. See link https://www.britishequestrian.org.uk/getInvolved/equality-diversity/building-an-inclusive-equestrian-community?utm_source=ig&utm_medium=social&utm_content=link_in_bio&fbclid=PAZnRzaAQIV9tleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZA8xMjQwMjQ1NzQyODc0MTQAAaescoB8NEBh90jEtm_kLzKXhFr9NDPvddznjWH7QougTtJpo5M_nX6EAwqt6g_aem_vXYDfG1_bmMxwHtnSm2VQw Great stuff BE! Now I would be interested to know who wrote the animations. Probably AI. That’s why unfortunately the content lack lustre. I’ll do a review another time. Do you like the animations

Horseback Archery
I am starting my horseback archery journey with a hope to compete and become a British Horseback Archery Association Coach to go alongside my inclusive coaching. I have joined a local Mamluk mounted archery club where I am learning the skills on the ground before trying whilst riding.

“Riders of every background deserve respect, expertise and the highest standard of protection.”
https://www.instagram.com/p/DU6BY8uiOXA/?igsh=MXFvd2h2NzBqeWt4cA== I get so many questions about fitting helmets to Afro hair whether it’s natural or in a protective style. Finally the big dogs in helmet manufacturing has released specialist training for fitting riding helmets to Afro hair. Do you think there needs to be more research in regard to the effectiveness of the helmet with different hair textures and/or styles?
