Today, I officially welcomed everyone into the HR Growth Masterclass community. This space is for the seasoned HR professional. It is for the person beginning an HR career. But it is also for the supervisor, manager, director, project leader, or individual contributor who simply wants to understand HR better. You may not want to work in Human Resources—and that is perfectly fine. But increasing your HR knowledge can help you become a better leader, a better listener, and a better manager of people. During today’s LIVE, I shared part of my own journey into HR. My career did not begin with an HR title. It began with administrative skills I learned years earlier: listening, typing, transcribing, organizing information, creating files, communicating clearly, planning, and helping people work through problems. Looking back, I can see that the ground was already being tilled. That journey eventually led me into Human Resources and created a lifelong commitment to helping people understand workplace processes, ask better questions, access helpful resources, and make more informed decisions. That is what we will do here. We will discuss real workplace situations, examine case studies, answer questions, and share practical tools—including onboarding resources, I-9 guidance, interview tools, and a framework for developing an employee handbook that actually fits your organization. You aren’t simplifying HR because HR is simple. You’re making HR understandable so people can actually do it well. Welcome to the HR Growth Masterclass. I am glad you are here. What is one HR topic that you would like to understand better?
