I’m wondering what the etiquette is surrounding stealing recipes.
We’ve all scrolled online and found a great recipe that we made a few times and decide to share. At what point does it become our own recipe and when is it stealing?
Generally I print out recipes that look interesting to me and inevitably make changes along the way, so each time I make it I mark up that printed page, but when the recipe works consistently with my changes then I feel comfortable taking my own pictures, typing up my own recipe card, and sharing it as my own creation.
However, some recipes are so good as they are that I can’t bother making changes so I share direct links to the original creator. No matter how many times I make the same recipe over and over, if I haven’t put work into making it better (for me), it just doesn’t feel right passing it off as my own.
Does anyone have thoughts on this?
