Recovery & Repentance: God's Grace for Addicts is where I hope to share my experience with and knowledge of addiction, repentance, and the pursuit of spiritual growth. The main focus is studying Vol. 6 (Temptation and Sin) of The Complete Works of John Owen -- Owen maps the human soul, and our battlefield against temptation and sin, like no one else.
Owen’s treatment of sin and temptation reads like an owner’s manual for addicts. The terms sin and temptation correlate incredibly well to addiction and cravings.
Is addiction a disease?
The motivation to call it as such was to alleviate the stigma around alcoholism and other addictions.
If addiction isn't a disease, what is it?
Is it sin?b
The Bible says it is (drunkenness, gluttony). That can be hard to hear. But that isn't the last word the Bible has to say about it.
Jesus is the final Word.
