*The Goal Setting Filter™
On the Flow Mastermind call today we decided to play a game.
Feel free to join us in this challenge.
Here's the common problem that we identified on the call...
THE PROBLEM:
Many people (myself included) have a yearly vision and have goals outlined to achieve our vision, but there's often hidden sub-conscious beliefs that sabotage us from achieving those goals.
For example:
"I want to earn 7 figures a year" - BUT...
  • I'm afraid I'll need to hire a big team.
  • I'm worried I'll need to manage too many people.
  • I'm concerned that I'll need to travel too much.
  • I'm scared this may take me away from those I love the most.
  • I'm unsure that I can handle more clients.
To address these sub conscious objections, we need a filter that can capture these objections.
Imagine a "Filter" that can capture your sub-conscious objections to achieving your goals, so you can see them, address them and use them as a superpower to achieve your goals?
Here's the secret to help you do this.
Reframe the fear into a question:
THE FORMULA:
How can I earn 7 figures a year without [insert fear]
Eg: How can I earn 7 figures a year without [hiring a big team]
Eg: How can I earn 7 figures a year without [needing to travel]
Eg: How can I earn 7 figures a year without [worrying about people judging me]
This will set your mind to uncovering and addressing the sub-conscious fear whilst also getting to work on figuring out the solution.
If you keep asking yourself this question, the answers and the solutions will present themselves.
For example:
Question: How can I earn 7 figures a year, without needing to travel
Answer: Hire an Ads team to promote virtual "sales" events instead.
Another good reason to create your Goal Filter is to have a filter mechanism that you can ask yourself whenever a new opportunity is presented to you.
THE FILTER:
For example, a well known industry leader invited me to a partnership event in San Diego in 2017.
I really wanted to go, but I was afraid it would mean I'd have to leave my kids at home.
I could allow my sub conscious fear to take over, or I could ask myself this filtering question.
"Will this opportunity help me earn 7 figures a year, AND allow me to spend more time with my kids?"
I realised that I could purchase a plane ticket for my kids to meet me in Hawaii on the way home from San Diego to Australia.
So that's what I did.
I attended the event, made some powerful partnership connections.
Then I met my kids in Hawaii and we had one of the most memorable trips of our lives together.
Looking back I also realised that from just this one partnership seminar I decided to attend, I met dozens of joint venture partners that collectively bought in over $200,000 in sales for my business that year.
So by running this filtering question I was able to add $200k to my 7 figure goal that year.
I did reach my yearly goal, bringing in $1.5M that year - and without it sacrificing my relationship with my kids.
This is the power of uprooting subconscious beliefs and turning them into a superpower.
THE TASK:
On a sheet of paper, Doc or spreadsheet, create THREE columns.
On the LEFT column - write down your specific goals
On the MIDDLE column - write down your fears or concerns (about achieving that goal)
On the RIGHT column - reframe your goal and fear into a question.
Then ask these questions to yourself daily (either verbally or non-verbally) and wait for the answer to present itself.
It might be instant, or it may take minutes, hours or even days before you get an answer.
But here's the thing... Once you figure out the RIGHT question to ask, you'll eventually get the right answer.
Once you've done the task drop your QUESTION in Skool so we can inspire each other on our journey to achieving our vision and goals together.
Enjoy :)
