You can heal!
I get asked a lot if people can fully heal from mold. My answer is always “yes!” I believe that our bodies are capable of healing. It helps if we can get out of mold or remove the mold at least for a while so we can give ourselves more space to heal. Then we support the body and it will do what it needs to in order to heal. Now some people do have a longer journey than others, but it is possible. Don’t give up hope. You are not a victim. Use the tools in the Foundations First class to help you to move forward on your journey. Do you believe we have an inherent ability to heal and that people can heal from chronic diseases? What have you heard to be most helpful for people as they heal?

You can heal!
The gaslighting epidemic in mold care
"It's not that bad" "Mold doesn't cause these symptoms" "You just think this is from mold" "You're crazy" "It's just in your head" "Your bloodwork is fine so you're fine" These are common phrases people who are struggling from mold face from doctors as well as spouses and they can really start to sink in at times. BUT, the truth is that you're not crazy. You have been poisoned by mold as it tries to protect itself and it's making you feel horrible. You know the truth and need to listen to your body. Here are some things you can do: get outside as much as possible to get fresh air do breathing exercises to support detox look for the good in your life and journal about it Sit in good memories get a mycotoxin urine test online or do the VCS test research scientific studies about the connection between mold exposure and your symptoms Let me repeat: You are not crazy and just because someone is gaslighting you, you don't have to listen. Stand in the truth you know and take action to start to heal and detox. You can find more info in the Basics of Mold class and the Foundations First class in the classroom where I go into more detail about all of this. Have you ever been gaslit about a chronic issue and how did you handle it?

Appreciating Symptoms
I know it seems hard: Why should I appreciate being exhausted all the time?!? Symptoms are a way that your body talks to you to slow down, to take it easy, to decrease stress. They are not a problem, but the path to a solution. If you're willing to pause and really listen to your body, you can learn what needs are being unmet. When we live in mold, we are under attack the entire time we are in the moldy environment and that's a lot for our bodies to handle. It makes sense that we would be tired. Our brains get inflamed from the toxins so it makes sense that we are struggle to think or remember. We don't need to get upset with our bodies, but to show compassion to them. As we get the mold out of our environments, our energy will usually return. If not, give yourself some time to heal. Decrease your expectations. Look for the good. As you take binders, you are removing toxins and you'll start to heal and be able to think again. You are not a victim and it's important to remember that. I encourage you to start to listen to your symptoms. What are they trying to tell you and are you willing to respond with love and compassion toward yourself to give yourself that extra hour of sleep or say no to the extra responsibilities? Take a moment to pause now and listen. What is your body saying? How can you respond with compassion? Comment below. Let's encourage each other.

To detox or not to detox?
I get this question a lot. When do I start to detox? I always suggest that we support detox pathways first: You need to be drinking 80-100 oz of water per day so that you're diluting toxins and clearing them out. You need to have AT LEAST one bowel movement per day and moving to support lymph. You need to be sweating regularly too. Sweat is not the enemy- you can easily shower! You need to allow yourself to feel what you need to so that you're handling stress. One of the most important actions you can take is to just BREATHE. It's the simplest and best way to support your body. You will see improvement just by doing those few steps. Then you can start to add detox support if you need to. Some people don't need to supplement once their foundations are supported. If you're sensitive to detox, start slow! I love bentonite clay, cilantro, chlorella and carboxy as binders. Activated charcoal is not as effective for generalized mold illness, but is really helpful if your digestion is off because of mold. I go into much more detail on all of this in the "Foundations First" class in the classroom. What has been your experience with detoxing? What helped you most as you started on your healing journey?
