Welcome to Hawksmere | Become More
Welcome. This community exists for people who refuse to settle for less than they're capable of becoming. Whether your goal is to progress your career, become exceptional in sales, develop greater confidence, think more clearly or simply become a better version of yourself, you're in the right place. This isn't about empty motivation or recycled self-help. It's about practical wisdom, honest conversations and continuous growth. Please introduce yourself by answering four questions: 1. Where are you from? 2. What do you do? 3. What's the biggest challenge you're facing right now? 4. What is one goal you want to achieve over the next 12 months? Take a few minutes to introduce yourself and welcome other members. I'm looking forward to getting to know you all.

The biggest mistake people make in salary negotiations
Most people negotiate based on what they need. The best negotiators negotiate based on the value they create. Salary isn't usually determined by effort. It's determined by the cost of replacing you, the problems you solve and the confidence you inspire. Before asking for more money, ask yourself: • Have I made my impact measurable? • Do the right people know the value I create? • Can I clearly explain why I'm worth more? If not, start there. Question: Have you ever successfully negotiated a pay rise? What made the difference?

Why do so many capable people never get promoted?
One thing I've noticed over the years is that most careers don't stall because people lack ability. They stall because people become excellent at doing their job, but never learn how organisations actually work. The people who progress the fastest usually understand things like: • How to communicate value rather than effort. • How to build trust before they need support. • How to solve problems that matter to senior leaders. • How to negotiate opportunities instead of waiting to be recognised. Hard work matters. But judgement, influence and visibility often matter just as much. I'm curious... What's one lesson about career progression you wish someone had taught you ten years earlier?
