THE PRESERVED LINEAGE OF HAPKIYUSUL
Welcome to the global home of a rare, low-impact holistic martial art. Hapkiyusul is defined as “The Art of Flowing Freely with Focused Ki.”
An Unbroken Lineage
Originating in India, it moved through China and Korea to Japan around 1000, secretly kept by the Takeda Clan under Takeda Shingen. Takeda Sokaku finally taught outsiders in 1917. The system passed to Choi Yong Sul, Kim Yun Sang, and Jarrod Taylor, who mastered the full art over 19 years and 17,000 hours of guided practice in Geumsan, South Korea.
Practice & Dojang
Structured into 12 low-impact groups (P1–P8, P6 Strikes, P7 Kicks), it builds strength, mobility, and Ki, uniting body, mind, and soul to cultivate a regenerating love of life.
Through Jarrod Taylor’s 8-part video series, live stream classes run by qualified instructors, and strict tracking to 1st Dan, we bring ancient wisdom to modern wellbeing. Step on the mat and awaken your focused Ki.
