Validating the product before launching it
Hey everyone, does anyone here has experience in validating a product before even launching?
I'm starting a new electric-powered innovations DTC Brand that redefine beauty and personal care in Brazil. The first product that it's in my pipeline is a supersonic hair dryer, but since I'm sourcing the products in China the cost of error would be huge. That's why I decided to validate the product demand using the same strategy that Justin Mares (founder @ Kettle and Fire) did to launch his business. -> Create a landing page focusing on the product it self, selling them just to validate the demand, after that, refund the money and call each of the clients that "early bought" explaining that that was just an experiment and the product would be available soon (and give them a discount code as a reward). The outcome of it will show me, what are the best images working, best Ads, reviews, pricing, CTR, CPC, Conversion Rate, etc.
Does anyone here did something similar or has other ideas of how can I validate it?
Thank you!
Below the strategy of Kettle and Fire launch for those interested.
