Do Not Rush Past This Morning
There will be other Fridays, but there will never be this Friday again
Before you reach for everything that needs your attention, allow yourself to notice the life already present around you, the morning air, the awakening world, the people you love, and the quiet miracle that you have been given another day in which to become more fully yourself.
This morning, I affirm:
I begin again without rejecting the person who carried me this far.
I honor my mind by seeking clarity rather than feeding confusion. I do not have to believe every thought that passes through me. I will listen for what is true.
I honor my heart by allowing it to remain compassionate without surrendering its boundaries. Tenderness and strength can live together within me.
I honor my spirit by remembering that purpose is not always something I must pursue. Sometimes purpose is revealed in the quality of my presence—in how sincerely I listen, how faithfully I serve, how courageously I speak truth, and how lovingly I meet another life.
I honor my body by slowing down long enough to inhabit it. I breathe. I feel the earth beneath me. I remember that my life is not somewhere in the future.
It is here.
Today, I choose truth so that I may see clearly.
I choose authenticity so that the life I live outwardly does not become separated from the person I know inwardly.
And I choose love so that truth never becomes cruelty and authenticity never becomes indifference.
I release what cannot accompany me into the person I am becoming.
I make peace with what cannot be changed.
I bring light to what can still be understood.
And I begin again with what remains in my hands.
Today, I will tell someone how dear they are to me
I will notice goodness before familiarity makes it invisible.
I will allow an ordinary moment to be enough.
I will leave kindness somewhere it was not expected.
And when evening comes, I may be able to say:
I was present for my life today.
I carried peace where I could.
I offered light where it was needed.
I protected what was dear.
And when I had a choice, I chose love.
May this Friday not simply be another day you pass through.
May it become a day you were truly here to receive.
With love,
