Sorry I haven't been active in this group lately, but it's been an incredibly busy season on the farm!
We've been deep into sowing season, getting all our crops planted for the year ahead. Just finished up sheep shearing too – always a challenging but rewarding time with our flock.
I'm also excited to share that I've recently published my book "A Practical Guide to Sustainable Living: Introduction to Permaculture" which is now available on Amazon! It's been a long project in the making, and I'm thrilled to finally have it out there for fellow sustainable living enthusiasts.
We've also had the pleasure of hosting a couple of WWOOFers who've been fantastic help with farm duties. There's nothing quite like having eager hands to share the workload and passionate people to exchange knowledge with.
Between all that, I've been working on updating our farm website to better showcase what we do here, and now we're in full production mode for our preserves – making jams, chutneys, sun-dried tomatoes, and drying herbs from our garden harvest.
Looking ahead, we're planning to start slaughtering the pigs by the end of September so we can get back into our cured meat production. It's always bittersweet but such an important part of our farm-to-table operation.
Thanks for your patience with my absence – hoping to be more active here as things settle into autumn rhythm. Would love to catch up on what everyone else has been up to on their homesteads!
