I love these as a marketing method for many reasons. Some of the top being, they are cheap and easy when getting started, it gives you something to fill your time with when you have more time than money, they are extremely targeted so you can get out of this world route density, and most importantly they consistently work! There's one thing that bothers me with door hangers; it's that many green industry professionals do not actually believe they work. After some discussion, it becomes clear that they did not work because of operator error. Some of the most common mistakes I've heard are "I put 300 out and only got 1 accepted", "I put some out over the winter and no one signed up", etc. Of course, you won't get many accepted if you hardly do them, and of course, with any marketing channel, if you have the right call to action but the wrong time of year, you will also get no response.
