🌸 Grow Log Update #6 - Harvest Day 🌸
So it's finally that time . . . harvesting!
To be fair, I actually harvested a little while ago, but I only updated the main grow log because I didn't have a ton to say at that time. Now I have time to yap haha.
I'll also attach the video I took to this post, as well as the main log.
I officially harvested on April 9th. That would've been the start of day 69 of flower, but I chopped everything right before my lights normally turn on, so let's call it 68 days of flowering (if you're able to, that's my favorite time to harvest - right before sun-up / lights on).
Everything is in the dry tent now, and I talk a little bit about my setup in the video if you're interested. I also have a whole section on drying & curing in the classroom. Here's a link to the Drying Section.
I've been stealing nugs off my plants since day 2 of drying, which I definitely don't recommend doing, but I can't help myself haha. Obviously the taste isn't there yet, it's just too wet still, but I've been really impressed with the effects & the fact that it doesn't taste as terrible as it prob should right now. Those are very good signs for the future!

I plan on doing a whole breakdown for each strain after the drying / curing, but in the meantime, I still try to take note of the different effects of each plant. I have a pretty decent spread of effects between all 4 plants, and I'm happy to say that I think each one has been filling different roles for me (which is always a plus, that's a big part of why I like variety when growing). Here's a rough breakdown of the effects of each one so far.
Lavender:
This was the first one I tried because I didn't really have a lot of expectations. I was very pleasantly surprised . . .
This plant hits hard, and pretty quick. The onset is super heady, almost like a traditional "sativa" effect, and is right there on the edge of being a little too much for me, but stops right before getting to the point of anxiousness or racing thoughts (which is great). Lots of feel good effects.
The 2nd half is muchhhh heavier, and surprisingly sedative. Pretty big contrast. A lot of the heady effects dull down, and you get a full body relaxed feeling. Not quite sleepy, but it's definitely not a move around & feel energetic type of thing. Super peaceful, and really sedative. Makes a great nighttime smoke AFTER the initial 30-40 mins.
Blue Dream:
Legendary strain. The smells on this plant alone make me love it. Really blueberry heavy, but distinctly "Blue Dream" if that makes sense. If you've had it before, you'll recognize it.
Effects wise, I really enjoy this plant too. I get a really solid mix between heady effects, and body relaxation, without either one overpowering the other. I'd say it's a nice daytime / anytime strain, but my ass fell asleep real fast last night haha, and I didn't really mean to.
I haven't smoked enough of it to give a proper description, so I'll come back to this one later. I have really high hopes for it (and expectations too, given how much people love this one).
Madd Fruit:
This was one I've never heard of, and had no expectations with. I've really only smoked it once since harvest, but I really enjoyed it.
I need more time for a proper description, but I remember being super surprised just how body-tingly this strain was. I literally remember feeling my shins tingle (which sounds super weird when I type it😂, but it was very pleasant).
I expect this one to be on the heavier side of things too. I'll see as I try it more & get a better feel. I didn't feel any type of way towards this strain, but after trying it, I'm way more intrigued.
GG4:
This is my baby . . . I remember growing up with this strain (towards the end of growing up at least). I have very fond memories of it, and this is more than a few of my buddies favorite strains. So I definitely have some high expectations.
I haven't smoked enough to really judge it, but man, that one time was enough for me to know I'll like this too.
Stoney weed for sure, where you almost feel it behind the eyes. I really enjoy stuff like this. Brought back some almost giggly moments, and just lots of body sensations. Again, the word that comes to mind is "stoney". Not sleepy, just really stoney. Great feel good weed, and is a perfect fit for the end of a party. I wouldn't want to smoke this & then go out, but if you want to come back & watch a movie, this is perfect.
Beyond grateful to have my hands on this one.

Big shoutout to anyone who's read this far!
If you couldn't tell, this is the stuff that I really enjoy.
Growing it is awesome, but consuming it & trying to sit with myself and really notice all the different effects & ways it influences how I feel is really rewarding. Same goes for the taste & smells. Give it a try sometime. You'll learn a lot!
I'll go ahead and do a follow up post once I finish drying and trimming, and I'll try to keep track of the yields, etc for anyone who's interested in stuff like that.
I'm taking a short break from flowering while I move, so there won't be another start to a grow log for at least a month. Right now I'm just keeping everything in veg, and taking care of my mother plants. But when I come back . . . I want to keep doing stuff like this! I'll focus on much more consistently updating, and I'll be cleaning up the format so it's not so much word vomit, and instead focuses on a couple specific concepts that come up at different phases.
If you have any suggestions of stuff you want to see, or of things that resonated with you this round, please let me know! It's in rough shape rn, but there's a lot of cool things I want to talk about, that I don't see a lot of other people saying. I didn't get to do a ton of that this round, but I jotted down some interesting topics for later.
Anyways, I've yapped for way longer than I planned to already.
As always, much love to all of you!
