What if we used Alex's link with the free trial to start a new community that is a blog or newsletter style for our niches?
Hear me out...
and Jenna Ostrye have been talking a lot about setting up a public Skool community and optimizing it to make it hyper discoverable and recommended by AI models like ChatGPT etc. You can see how Matt breaks it down here in Skoolers (I HIGHLY recommend checking it out!). The main idea is to keep the community public so that all the posts and comments within the community are readily accessible to AI search.
However, we all know most communities thrive when they are private as most people are likely to engage and comment, etc knowing there's a little more privacy. So then you're left having to choose; public but ChatGPT is recommending you? ... or Private and you protect the integrity of the community?
But what if we can have both?
So I came across this Calvin Hollywood video the other day and it hit me! Duh! Use a public community as a blog or newsletter for your niche/topic and use it to drive traffic to your private community! It's the best of both worlds! You can protect your members' privacy, but still have all the benefits of discoverability by having a public community and use it to direct people to join your private/freemium one!
I don't know, maybe it's a silly idea but I thought I'd share and ask you guys your thoughts!
What ideas have been swirling around for you guys now with the 90 day free trial up for grabs?
