⭐ Bangkok IRL - Goose is just a real person who did the right things
This is my first post here, forgive me if its a little ranty! excited to be goosing with other geese, so to speak.
After spending an entire day (well despite running to a flight and then turning around and coming back becuase it was the next day!) with the Skoolers and Goose specifically something really stuck out to me
They're just regular people who did the right things to move the needle.
Everything was being done at a higher level, but the theme of what they do for events and relationships. Is the same thing that many businesses including my own do for their own local communities.
Its the little things, remembering names, giving a warm welcome, helping with luggage and inviting open communication among strangers (even if that means pushing you out of your comfort zone a little bit)
In fact one of the most relatable things about Goose was that he was apologetically himself, not trying to impress anyone or make anyone feel less than.
He provided value during the presentation, and during the evening When we went out to eat we went to this fancy seafood buffet and all had dinner together.
We just had normal conversations and a normal dinner.
We talked about Business a little, Goose dropped an Alex Hormozi gem that shocked me
(comment "pokemon" and ill reveal what he told me) but it wasn't business related.
We mostly talked about movies and cartoons. It was a regular ass conversation.
Another thing i noticed.
Goose was not impressed by the food.
He ate spaghetti and chicken nuggets and had no shame about it.
I respected that.
After giving my lady a hard time for eating what she was comfortable with in thailand (i kept saying, we're in thailand!
Try something new! we can have chicken nuggets and pizza when we get home)
But seeing someone performing at such a high level just BEING THEMSELF and doing what they like regardless of how it looks or what people think, was inspiring. There are no rules, as long as you do the RIGHT things that MOVE THE NEEDLE.
The little things add up into massive movement...
One of the Speakers in particular said something that made me laugh but is also profoundly true. Ive been a Native Tucsonan In AZ for my entire life, ive travelled a decent amount to various places around the world, but After being in Thailand for 3 weeks and finishing it off with the skool event, Jedi's words really stuck with me
"White people just don't care as much as Thai People"
As funny as that it is, its profoundly true. There is a massive difference in culture between SEA and the US and one of those things is the every day interactions are full of a lot more politeness and care. In the US an Uber doesn't help you with your luggage, in Thailand they great you and immediately jump out to help you with a smile. Its a very small thing, but the little things ARE THE BIG THINGS.
It ALL ADDS UP to a tremendous experience that was "above and beyond" in too many ways to think rationally about, but YOU FEEL IT.
This is something ive done unconsciously over the last decade
When others had events with generic tickets,
we made custom themed tickets that matched the event flyer
When Others had events with 2-4 people who didn't really fit together,
We offered events with 6-12 people that had similar fan-bases so fans were more likely to stay
When others took 10 mins between sets and lost attention
We kept it to 1-2 mins and had constant announcements between to keep things moving and flowing
Despite being one of the smaller venues in town, who does events as a SIDE thing, we've managed to hold onto a loyal fanbase over a decade that has sustained and allowed us to change forms again and again while still retaining what sets us apart, LOVE FOR THE CRAFT.
TL;DR
