I used to be a copywriter, from January 2024 - October 2024, I grinded on copywriting.
It was my first ever attempt at a business model, although before I did try stuff like making faceless YouTube channel, doing these paid survey things that got you like 50p per one, lol and selling stuff on eBay and stuff.
This was my first β€œreal” business model, I joined Andrew Tate’s The Real World, after saying to myself I was going to join for like the past 6 months….
So I began my copywriting journey, joined the campus, and started learning…
Watched the course for my β€œdeep work” session lol, and just consumed and consumed for a week or two.
Then I began the real work, I made an Instagram account called β€œCopy Compose” and I remember the professor in the course said to get something called a β€œTestimonial” and to do warm outreach to get it.
I didn’t I just remember going to ChatGPT and making some crap outreach message, btw I logged back in the old account and got an old photo of my DM’S just the same copy and pasted message spammed to like 100 accounts a day, lol.
Surprisingly I got someone interested it by my awful copy and paste outreach message.
Then I got it, then moved on trying to get my next 4, testimonial's I did.
Got it all done in about the start of February 2024 I then grinded for months on wards, every day I would work for like 4 hours, copy and pasting the same outreach message via cold emails or Insta DM’S over and over again, to just random businesses I could not care less about.
And I had nothing to show for it.
It was awful, worst of all I made no money results anyway to make it even worse.
I continued until October 2024, I was on an old now abandoned skool community called β€œAdonis Gang.” By Hamza, also Hamza had already changed my life.
I seen he made a post on β€œShould you join TRW, AS or AN?” And I watched then then he just explained YouTube as a business model compared to copywriting and etc, and said about how on YT you talk about your passions and get paid for it, and it has real purpose, when I watched that something clicked, also at the time, just going to admit this I found a cracked version online of Hamza’s program.
And watched the YT courses in AS and etc, it was really good, that eventually lead to me joining his program, but that is a story for another day.
Anyway, that was the moment for me it clicked you need to find love in the work you do, especially in business.
Cause online business is HARD, it really is so so hard, all the YouTubers are lying to you when they say β€œOh bro just work 1 or 2 hours a day for a month then you will be a millionaire in 3 months.” BS!
And that made me realise, I needed to do the business I would do regardless of I knew it would fail, so that brought me to helping people with their mental health, which I am still doing!
You need to find purpose, fulfilment and enjoyment in your work.
Even now I have been doing this since October 2024, I have made only Β£34 lol, well I mean I switched the model on how I would make money from this like in early August, and I am working hard to build it up.
Cause it takes perseverance to win, half the battle I think of winning in a business is persevering through the hard moments.
And of you don’t love your work you will just quit, like how I did with copywriting.
(BTW not saying copywriting is bad, it is just my experience with it, there are worse models though like only fans managment, dropshipping and etc lol)
So my advice for you reading this would be, make your business something you like for the love of god!
I am not saying you need to quit or whatever, no I am not, but I am saying make it fun, not saying you need to quit your copywriting business of it is successful no, but of you have grinded for months or years and are still getting nowhere, I would say reconsider for a more purposeful business like content creation or coaching.
I say content creating and coaching / selling digital products to a market of people you care about is the best / most purposeful for 99% of people.
But I understand of you have a successful business in copywriting for example, I would say keep going, awesome, but at the very least enjoy your work!
Get creative, gamify it, see the purpose in your work, add music, add a social element and etc, cause of the journey sucked to get there, then the destination will never fulfill you!
Never forget, enjoy your work.
