Trump Ends IRS Broker Rule - Yesterday, President Donald Trump signed a bill nullifying an IRS rule that aimed to classify decentralized exchanges (DeFi) as brokers, which would have subjected them to tax reporting requirements. Our community fought hard to reverse this rule, and that work paid off!  - This is the first cryptocurrency bill EVER signed into law by a U.S. president. Shout out to the thousands of Stand With Crypto advocates who wrote to their lawmakers and helped make it possible.  Paul Atkins Confirmed as SEC Chair - On Wednesday night, Paul Atkins was confirmed as the new Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on April 9, 2025, following a 52–44 Senate vote. - Atkins, who previously served as an SEC commissioner from 2002 to 2008, is known for his pro-cryptocurrency stance and advocacy for reduced regulatory burdens. His confirmation represents a shift towards clearer rules for digital assets and a win for the entire U.S. economy.
