River is finally at the stage I have faded my lure and I’m now playing around with concepts I will use in front of a decoy The decoy is a draw for her, for all our sport dogs So I am doing the following ahead of time: Toy in the left hand sometimes and chucking it behind me, promoting to stay off my body Secondary obedience using the tug so picking her up off it and sending back like I do a decoy Doing the start of some in motion, down out of heel ahead of leaving her in front of the decoy I have done just one session with the decoy and the fade and I did exactly this type of session in my obedience set and then in protection I used my hand touch for the reps in between bites and a faded lure in basic Because I only see a decoy once a week currently, I am taking slightly longer in that protection set to fade fully in movement Something I am going to start doing more of at this stage is have a friend hold a large wedge as the step to it being a decoy, so I can keep her as open as possible and help get that lure fully faded in protection keeping the precision and power I’m now seeing in sessions like this 🥰 Some of the videos in the course relating to what I’m doing show how I move between the hand touch and fade and also the videos of Ruse show doing the secondary obedience with a friend and a helper :)

I am working on trying to transfer Olles movement pattern and rhythm from luring into his finished heelwork. He moves with good rhythm towards in the end of the session, but I’m experimenting with different aids to be able to keep the same pattern in the beginning of the session or in higher arousal situations — where he puts his energy and power into the right things instead of getting frantic. A lot of tinkering back and forth — tell me what you’re working on currently!

I’m doing BH/VT in July. I think some of you can relate to my anxiety about chip readings and greeting the judge. I’m not nervous at all about the rest 😆. This is a stranger to Vega so I’m super proud of our progress. She even sniffed him without getting scared?!? She’s always struggled with people interacting with me. Even if I’m talking to someone across the street. I don’t really understand why so it’s hard to work with.
