Tips on using authority

Hello all!, I wanted to ask those who are actively dispatching their experience on using drivers authority. I asked a friend who dispatches and they mentioned using the drivers authority is not always good due to the fact if they have a bad score or history that will affect the quality of loads we are trying to obtain.

Any tips or work around to this topic?.
