One thing I’ve learned so far is that dispatching is about much more than just finding loads. A good dispatcher helps carriers stay profitable, avoid costly mistakes, communicate effectively with brokers, and keep trucks moving.
As I’m building my dispatching business, I’m focusing on understanding the unique challenges reefer carriers face, especially issues like spoiled loads, rejected freight, detention delays, and maintaining proper documentation.
My goal is to become the type of dispatcher who prevents problems before they happen, not just someone who books loads.
For the experienced dispatchers in this group:
What’s one lesson you wish you had learned sooner when you first started dispatching?
Looking forward to learning from everyone! 🚚💨
