When I need raw data, I get it from Apify and here’s why you should to
Everytime a client comes to ask me: “Can we gather xyz data?”
I nearly always default to saying YES!
Not bc I’m able to build it from scratch, but bc someone on apify most likely has already done the heavy lifting!
What is Apify?
Apify is a storefront for APIs
It is a place where someone has already scraped websites or the internet in general and now have a way to provide you that data without you having to go through all the loopholes and complexities of scraping it yourself
Life for instance: for Ghostpost, I am scraping certain individuals linkedin posts to generate my own RSS feed.
Instead of me going through the craziness of gathering this data myself, I just pay for the convenience of hooking up to that data source and getting the exact data I need when I need it.
If you are building workflows or apps that require data aggregation, then you most likely will apify. And before you say, “I can build this myself” just weigh out the pros and cons of doing that bc I promise you, it is much more difficult than it seems… trust me I know
