Nobody scrolls Google Maps for fun. They scroll for certainty.
Here's what actually happens when someone in your town searches "dentist near me" or "chiropractor near me".
They open the map pack. Five businesses. All 4.8 stars or higher. All "family friendly", all "accepting new patients". The photos all look the same.
They cannot tell you apart. So the choice comes down to one thing: who feels familiar.
The clinic owner whose face they've seen answering questions online. The chiropractor whose video popped up twice before they ever searched. Familiarity does the selling before Google ever shows up.
A personal brand is just that: becoming the familiar one in your town.
Stealable system for this week:
1. Film one 60-second video answering the question your last three patients asked you. One question, one answer, your face on camera.
2. Post it on Instagram AND as a Google Business Profile update. Yes, you can post video there. Almost no owner ever does.
3. Do it every week. In three months you are the name people recognize in the map pack.
Ads rent you clicks. Familiarity wins you the click without paying for it.
Honest question: when someone in your town hears your industry named, whose name comes to mind first, yours or your competitor's?
