Screw self-improvement videos lol
I exercise every day.
(Not to flex or anything lol.)
But what's cringe is that usually, while I'm exercising, I listen to self-improvement YouTube videos.
I know, that's a really "sigma male" thing to do, but I do it. I enjoy the videos, and it's useful to have a set time each day to listen to new ones.
But last night when I was ready to exercise I thought, "I don't want to listen to another generic self-improvement guru tonight."
Instead, I found a different video.
It was an interview of Bob Dylan from 2004.
In case you don't know, Bob Dylan is an amazing poet/singer-songwriter. He was very famous in the 1960s. Just a few days ago, a new movie about Bob Dylan's life, A Complete Unknown, was released, and as a result, I've been basically obsessed with Dylan's music the past few days lol.
Anyway, the interview was amazing. In fact, I probably learned more from this 15-minute interview than I have ANY of the recent self-improvement videos I've seen.
Kinda crazy, isn't it?
This 60-year-old guy (he was about 60 when the interview was made) taught me more than any of the young self-improvement YouTubers I've been watching.
Now, I'm not saying that self-improvement content is bad or anything.
But maybe you can find some of the most valuable self-improvement content in places you wouldn't expect.
Like, y'know, real life.
Just something to think about.
