Recently, I saw the movie "A Complete Unknown."
It's an INCREDIBLE movie about Bob Dylan, the famous singer-songwriter who was very popular in the 1960s.
One thing stood out to me about it:
Bob Dylan is literally a GENIUS, and he is using his genius to make amazing music.
That seemed to be 100% clear throughout the entirety of the film.
Bob Dylan viewed the world in a way different from everyone else, and that's why he made such good music. He "thought different," as Steve Jobs would say.
But anyway, he channeled his efforts into music, and music alone.
He wasn't a businessman. He wasn't a doctor. He wasn't anything other than a singer-songwriter.
This makes me think:
What would Bob Dylan be doing if he were born in this generation?
Would he still be a musician, or would he pursue a different thing, like being a YouTuber or something lol?
And if Bob Dylan were a YouTuber, would he be using his genius abilities as WELL as he was able to as a songwriter?
Here's what I mean: are some art forms or media BETTER than others? Are you more of an "artist" if you make folk music rather than YouTube Shorts?
And if so, are we wasting our lives by not pursuing higher forms of art and work than we are?
Alright, I know this is literally just a community about gamifying studying and this is probably way too deep.
But it's something to think about, especially as you choose your career path and continue in school.
What do you want to use YOUR genius abilities for (I believe all of us have them, to some degree)?
