Hi everyone, I’m Daniel – solo dev working on an emotional-survival game called Sappy. For the last months I’ve been building a 2D top-down game where the whole world visually reacts to the main character’s emotions. Sappy has two core emotional states — Sad and Happy — and the environment shifts with him: colors, textures, lighting, even movement abilities (lower jump when sad, more strength when angry, etc.). My goal is to explore a message about accepting every part of yourself and turning emotions into mechanics. I’m doing all art, code and design solo — hand-painted textures, Unity implementation, reveal systems, emotional world states, etc. I’d love to know if the concept resonates with you as fellow devs. Any feedback, criticism, or questions are super welcome. Hi! I’m Lily. I’m 19 and i live in England. I have been taking Game Dev starting from this year and then Game Design for the last two years. I found a new loved interest within game dev/design and haven’t been able to figure out the ways I should start, nor had i taken the time properly to figure it out alongside college. I’m trying to build a portfolio and joined to understand any issues i run into and also sharing knowledge I already have where possible.

Just a noob who started dabbling in all aspects of the gaming industry. I'm mainly just a game enjoyer but figured it might be time to learn a bit more about game development or at least some of the things and ways game devs think, the challenges they face, etc. So what better way than to join a community of game devs lol.
