Hey everyone, I'm Tad — and I’m truly excited you’re here! This community was born out of a simple moment: A dad stepping onto the field with no experience, just a desire to make sure his daughter’s first soccer game wasn’t canceled. Since then, my journey through rec leagues, competitive teams, club leadership, and grassroots coaching has taught me one big thing: Soccer is better when we share what we know. Whether you’ve been coaching for 20 years, or you’re wondering how to run your very first practice without losing every ball in the parking lot — you belong here. - Where in the world are you coaching from? I coach in Utah - How did you get into coaching soccer? You prob already saw this in the about video, but in short I became a coach when my oldest daughters coach didn't show up for her first ever game. 18 years later and here I am still going! - What age group(s) are you coaching? I have coached from U5-U18, mostly girls teams, but I have coached a few boys team as well. Right now I am on a break from coaching in order to start this community! - What’s your biggest win or favorite moment on the sideline so far? I don't think I can pinpoint just one favorite moment. I think my favorite thing has been the players giving me cards, or pictures they made or drawings. Those things are more valuable to me than any of the tournaments or championships. - What other passions do you have outside of soccer? I am a big nerd! I love sci-fi & fantasy shows like Star Trek, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones and Harry Potter. I also love to read novels about the same type of topics with some mystery and biographies mixed in. I also love to be outdoors doing everything from swimming, to running, to cycling, to hiking. I enjoy doing yoga. - Why did you join the Futbol Coaches Network? I created the FCN to give back to new coaches the same kind of mentoring I had in my coaching journey. - What are you hoping to learn or contribute here? I hope this community ends up helping thousands of coaches in this beautiful sport. I hope this community also creates lasting friendships and relationships.
