Dear Self, A kind note on overwhelm
Sometimes, overwhelm isn’t caused by one big thing, but rather a collection of small, unseen pressures that pile up beneath the surface. Even if there’s no clear cause, a few possibilities might be:
✨ Mental Load – Your mind might be juggling too many unprocessed thoughts, making it feel like “too much” even if nothing stands out.
✨ Invisible Expectations – Sometimes, the pressure to move forward, perform, or make progress creates stress, even if it’s subtle.
✨ Decision Fatigue – Having many choices or open-ended possibilities can lead to exhaustion without realizing it.
✨ Emotional Residue – Sometimes, past experiences or inner blocks linger without conscious awareness, subtly weighing on energy.
If nothing seems to be the direct cause, you might find clarity by asking:
🔹 Where do I feel tension in my body when I think about my goals?
🔹 What would feel like relief right now?
🔹 If I could release one expectation, what would it be?
You’re not alone in this—overwhelm can be sneaky.
Sometimes, life feels too fluid or overwhelming to define clear goals—and that’s valid.
Instead of forcing yourself to set a goal, maybe just allow space for what’s unfolding. Consider: ✨ What feels good to focus on right now?
✨ What brings even a little relief or curiosity?
✨ What’s one thing that feels nourishing or supportive today?
Growth doesn’t always happen through structured goals; sometimes, it’s in the moments of gentle exploration.
