Happy Self Care Sunday! ✨Below you'll find a list of self care ideas, but I think everyone should make their own list of self-care ideas to pull from daily! Some are small ways to show compassion to yourself while others take a bit more time. Any of these pique your interest? Let me know!
I challenge you to select just TWO of these from the list and try it. Take care of you and have fun!💖
- Give yourself a manicure or pedicure
- Read a book or magazine for an hour.
- Sit on your front porch. Just. sit.
- Take a bubble bath, complete with aromatherapy (see lesson) and calming music
- Pick or buy a bouquet of fresh flowers.
- Take a leisurely walk without a goal.
- Put on a homemade face mask!
- Give yourself permission to binge watch your latest show, without ANY guilt.
- Take a nap.
- Order in dinner.
- Do something crafty: Coloring, knitting, or sewing.
- Go to the library or bookstore. Sit in a comfy chair and read.
- Sit in the grass and watch the clouds float by.
- Look at the stars.
- Have a dance party to your favorite music.
- Take a mental health day, and not feel an ounce of guilt by it.
- Burn a candle or diffuse some oils that have scents.
- Sit in a coffee shop and sip on a luxurious drink.
- Walk around the fancy grocery store without a list. Buy some stuff just for the heck of it.
- Try out a new hobby.
- Practice Yoga
- Cook breakfast for yourself before anyone else.
- Sing at the top of your lungs! Preferably in the car with the windows down.
- Go for a drive, no destination required.
- Close yourself in a room and listen to the latest episode of your favorite podcast.
- Have a 20 minute stretching session.
- Go swimming for fun (not exercise)
- Go to the park and play on the playground. Be a kid again!
- Plan out an extravagant vacation just for fun.
- Wear an outfit that makes you feel good.
- Declutter a spot in the house that's been bugging you.
- Write a list of "annoying tasks" that have been weighing on you and knock them out in a hour.
- Bake a dessert you love, then eat it.
- Watch the sun rise or set. Don't take any pictures or post anything. Just watch.
- Have a picnic by yourself.
- Research something that you've been interested in but haven't had the time to dive into.
- Edit who you follow on social media (if they don't bring you joy, they gotta go, no matter how nice inspiring or cool they are)
- Go to a museum: art, childrens', history or science!
- Go to a cocktail hour at the bar, enjoy a drink.
- Have an at home spa session (see classroom section for details!)
- Get a massage
- Spend time out in the garden.
- Take the time to do your hair and makeup, for no other reason than it makes YOU feel put together.
- Write a list of 10 things you're grateful for and why.
- Make yourself a batch of infused water to sip on.
- Buy yourself a new set of pens and markers.
- Write yourself a letter or an email to an old friend.
- Cook yourself a fancy meal for no other reason than 'I deserve a fancy meal'
- Say "no" to someone
- Unplug for the rest of the day, put your device in another room and do some meditation, engage in hobbies, or do something that really soothes the soul.
