The Fallacy of Stable, Secure and Safe.
Over the last year, we’ve seen a quiet but dangerous shift.
👉🏾 Black women’s labor force participation dropped from 60.6% to 59.7%
👉🏾 Unemployment rose from 5.8% to 6.7%
👉🏾 And the most alarming part?
College-educated Black women were hit the hardest! Can you believe that!
The very women who were told:
“Go to school.”
“Get the degree.”
“Climb the corporate ladder.”
…are the same ones now being pushed out of the workforce.
Many of these job losses came from the public sector, particularly federal roles — positions that were once considered “stable,” “secure,” and “safe.”
I'd love to have some thoughtful dialogue around this topic. What are you ladies doing differently in this season to create the life you imagine? What are you doing differently to make sure you're not affected by the next economic downturn negatively?
