Learning & Question on Order Processing

Hi all, excited to get to know the freight industry! I am wanting to enter it in the coming months from tech and automation.

Would greatly appreciate if people can share how orders are currently processed, and whether it is mainly through EDI or if it is manual retype. While researching, I got some conflicting answers.

Now I just want to absorb all the knowledge I can, so would love to connect one-on-one with anyone who feels like sharing industry knowledge.
