Why use Arc Raiders as a place to learn Bushido?
I think Clayton Giles is on to something in this video: https://youtu.be/brPsFB3JcUI I don’t want to get too grandiose here, but it may be that Arc Raiders provides a game space where we can test our humanity, insomuch as a video game can do that. It forces us to make choices both in advance and in the moment that reveal the type of human being that we are but also give us the opportunity to change. Further, there are consequences to our choices. Play as a rat for too long and the growing anti-rat factions will come after you. Play co-operatively, recognise our shared humanity, and it may help you to get ahead. But there are no guarantees, no promises. You must choose your path and trust in it. To my mind, the practice of bushido is an attempt to refine our humanity, our approach to life.
