Remote Portriats Sessions is happening in 14 hours
What's the first piece of advice you'd give to someone to prepare for a professional headshot appointment?
Hi Cristal, I'm amazed by what professional photographers can artfully draw out of ordinary people and places. What's the first piece of advice you'd give to someone to prepare for a professional headshot appointment? What a wonderful question! 💛📸 Honestly, the first piece of advice I give people is: Don't focus on looking perfect. Focus on being yourself. Most people show up worried about their hair, their smile, their wrinkles, what to wear, or whether they're photogenic. But the best headshots happen when people relax and let their personality come through. A great headshot isn't about perfection—it's about connection. Before your session: ✨ Wear something that feels like you. ✨ Get a good night's sleep. ✨ Stay hydrated. ✨ Think about who you want to connect with through the image. And then trust your photographer to guide you. My job isn't just to take a picture. It's to help people feel comfortable enough for their authentic confidence to show up in front of the camera 😊🌍✨

Bees can be tricky
Chased this bee around for 5 minutes with my phone out looking a little bit strange to passers by I'm sure. Who doesn't love bee's though? This fluffy monster is camera shy maybe.

📸 The Photo That Got Away 💔✨
I know what it feels like to wish you still had a photo. Years ago, I lost almost my entire photography portfolio in Hollywood after some angry boys destroyed my pictures at a carwash. Later, after moving, Facebook deleted my account after 14 years — and with it, thousands of memories, conversations, and images. Some photos you never get back. And sometimes you don’t realize what they meant until they’re gone. So now I’m curious… What’s one photo you wish you still had? 💜 Cristal Tokyo, Japan circa 1987

Ask Me Anything — No Question Too Small 📸
30 years behind the lens. Hollywood. Tokyo. Pageants. Kids. Pets. Corporate headshots. Remote sessions from living rooms around the world. I've seen it all — and I'm an open book. This is your space to ask me anything. 👇 Not sure if remote headshots will work for you? Ask. Wondering what to wear? Ask. Nervous about being on camera? Ask. Curious about my time in Hollywood? Ask. Want to know if your child is ready for the industry? Ask. No question is too small. No experience required. Just show up as you are and ask away. I'll answer every single one. 💜 Drop your question below — and if you see someone else's question that resonates, give it a like so I know what matters most to this community. ⬇️
