Hi Cristal, I'm amazed by what professional photographers can artfully draw out of ordinary people and places. What's the first piece of advice you'd give to someone to prepare for a professional headshot appointment?
What a wonderful question! 💛📸
Honestly, the first piece of advice I give people is:
Don't focus on looking perfect. Focus on being yourself.
Most people show up worried about their hair, their smile, their wrinkles, what to wear, or whether they're photogenic. But the best headshots happen when people relax and let their personality come through.
A great headshot isn't about perfection—it's about connection.
Before your session:
✨ Wear something that feels like you.
✨ Get a good night's sleep.
✨ Stay hydrated.
✨ Think about who you want to connect with through the image.
And then trust your photographer to guide you.
My job isn't just to take a picture. It's to help people feel comfortable enough for their authentic confidence to show up in front of the camera 😊🌍✨
