📸 I Thought I Needed Better Gear. What I Really Needed Was to Start Creating.
One of the biggest mistakes I made when I started my photography journey was believing that great photography was only about having the best equipment.
I spent too much time worrying about gear and not enough time simply creating, experimenting, and connecting with people.
What I eventually learned is that photography is really about seeing. It's about noticing light, emotion, expression, and telling a story. The camera is just a tool.
Over the years, I've realized that some of my favorite images happened because I was present, curious, and willing to try something new—not because I had the newest camera.
If you're just starting out, my advice is simple: don't wait until everything is perfect. Use what you have. Practice often. Photograph the people and moments that move you. Every image teaches you something.
The truth is, your eye and your heart will always matter more than your equipment. 📸✨
What's one mistake you've made that ended up teaching you something valuable?
