No matter what kind of online business you may be building, there is one asset that can't be taken away from you.
If you're building a social media following or run paid ads (no matter if it's on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, etc.), you're at the mercy of the platform.
You can get banned at any point. It's happened to me before and it's happend to many others.
The same goes for building a community on platforms like Skool, Circle, Discord, Facebook, etc. While platforms that require you to pay are less incentivized to ban you, it's still a possibility.
If you're selling physical products on Amazon or eBay or print-on-demand products on Printful or Printify, there's always a chance of getting banned.
However, there is one type of asset that you truly own, instead of renting - your email list.
Actually, it's the relationship with your email list.
If your Email Service Provider (ESP) decided to ban you at any point, you wcould easily export your email list and go to another ESP.
Because of the relationship you've built over time, you can keep communicating with your email subscribers no matter which platform you've chosen to use.
That's why I encourage you to start building your email list as early as possible. The sooner, the better.
Trust me on this - many business owners who neglect doing it early in their business regret it later.
Don't be one of them!
