Ask a new BCBA about their supervision hours. Most will describe paperwork.
Hours tracked. Competencies checked. Forms signed. That's administrative supervision. It keeps the board happy.
But it's not the thing that makes a great clinician. That comes from a supervisor who slows down and asks what you were thinking during a hard session. What you felt. What you'd do differently.
That's reflective supervision, and most of us never got it.
