IREN Coincidence? Or the Start of Something Bigger? Ryan Bures, a former executive at KKR and Quadrant Private Equity, joins $IREN to lead strategic partnerships, M&A, and growth initiatives. No formal deal with KKR has been announced yet. But when a company hires someone with this level of private equity and infrastructure experience, it’s worth paying attention. The next chapter for $IREN could be much bigger than the market is expecting. $120 is right around the corner. 🤞

Daily Buzz August 6 2026
📊 Markets were trading lower Thursday as oil prices weighed on sentiment. The S&P 500 slipped 0.18% and the Nasdaq ended nearly flat at 0.057%. The Dow fell 0.85%, snapping a five-day win streak and Canada's S&P/TSX Composite finished nearly flat, down 0.028%. 📱 AppLovin ($APP) sank 20% to a new 52-week low after second-quarter revenue of $1.92 billion missed the $1.94 billion estimate, though EPS landed in line at $3.76 and revenue still grew 53% year over year. CEO Adam Foroughi pinned the shortfall on timing, saying model improvements were lighter than usual in the quarter and the next step up in performance landed just after it closed. Piper Sandler downgraded the stock to neutral and slashed its price target from $665 to $385. ✈️ Honeywell Aerospace ($HONA) fell 23% after second-quarter sales of $4.5 billion and adjusted EBIT of $995 million both missed estimates of $4.6 billion and $1.1 billion. Adjusted EPS came in at $1.87, down from $2.75 a year earlier, with supply chain constraints limiting output. The company cut full-year organic sales growth guidance to 4%–5% from 7%–9% and trimmed its standalone adjusted EBIT target to $4.35–$4.45 billion. Backlog still grew 9% to $18.2 billion and management is qualifying more than 50 new suppliers. 🏨 Airbnb ($ABNB) jumped 9% after hours following their earnings report. Revenue climbed 17% to $3.61 billion and EPS came in at $1.37 against $1.25 expected, with net income rising to $816 million. Guidance topped estimates too and management pointed to bookings growth of about 20% in Latin America. ☁️ Cloudflare ($NET) posted second-quarter revenue of $696.1 million, up 36% year over year, with non-GAAP income from operations of $96.1 million. The company guided full-year revenue to $2.864 billion–$2.870 billion. CEO Matthew Prince framed the quarter around the shift to AI answer engines and agent-driven commerce.

What? IREN has hired Quadrant's Ryan Boers, who previously worked at KKR, also known as Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. KKR? KKR is one of the world’s largest alternative asset managers, investing across private equity, credit, infrastructure, real estate and insurance. It managed approximately $796 billion globally as of Q2 2026, giving it an enormous network across capital markets, corporate dealmaking and digital infrastructure. Who? The latest KKR piece is Ryan Boers, who is leaving Quadrant Private Equity to join IREN. Boers previously spent two years as a Principal at KKR in Sydney, where he worked on originating, executing and managing private-equity investments. According to the AFR, he is expected to join IREN’s business-development division and work on new contracts, strategy and M&A. And? That puts him alongside Boris Dangubic, who joined IREN in March after previously working at KKR and later CVC Capital Partners. Based on their career timelines, Boers and Dangubic likely overlapped at KKR Sydney between roughly 2021 and 2023. IREN therefore appears to be reuniting two former KKR dealmakers inside the same contracts, strategy and M&A function. There is another, more circumstantial KKR connection. Aaron Tan, a Principal on KKR’s Tech Growth team, recently relocated from Sydney to San Francisco. In his announcement, he wrote: “It’s been a privilege partnering with world-class Aussie founders and incredibly rewarding seeing the ecosystem mature over the years.” Shortly afterwards, Tan attended @IREN_Ltd's San Francisco AI Social event, where he appeared among the event’s attendees. Taken together, it is an interesting pattern: IREN has hired two former KKR dealmakers into strategy and M&A, while a current KKR Tech Growth investor with deep links to the Australian founder ecosystem has moved to San Francisco and is already appearing at IREN-hosted events. The broader strategic context also matters. KKR recently launched Helix Digital Infrastructure with more than $10 billion of committed capital, backed by KKR, NVIDIA, the Kuwait Investment Authority and Vistra. Its mandate includes financing and developing hyperscale data centers, power infrastructure and connectivity.
