- Experian:
1-855-414-6048 Enter your social then press 2, then 1, then 2, then 3. Ask to speak to
the fraud department.
• Enter Social security number.
• Say or Enter your Zip Code (If you have a security freeze say NO you do not
want to remove security freeze, and say Hear my choices. If you have a
fraud alert say Yes when asked if that’s what you’re calling about, then say
you want to move the alert. You will then be transferred to the dispute
department, at that point ask to be transferred to the Fraud department).

• #3 Dispute (What kind of dispute will be identity theft)
Once the dispute team gets on the line, ask to be transferred to the Fraud
department. Only speak to the fraud department.
- Transunion:
1-800-916-8800 Press 1 for English, Press 0 to speak to a Rep(or say operator if
pressing zero doesn’t work), Enter your current mailing zip code, and then ask the rep
to transfer you to the fraud department.
- Equifax:
1 (888) 548-7878 Press 3 for anything else, when you get a rep, please ensure you’re
speaking to the fraud department.
Doing this will send you directly to a live representative. Tell Representative that you got
disconnected with the Fraud Department and ask them to send you back to them
immediately. Even if they ask, are you sure I can't help you instead? Say thank you but
send me to the Fraud Department. When you finally get to the Fraud Department say:
Hello, I just got disconnected with Fraud department 7 minutes ago and the lady haven't
called me back yet so I'm calling back now. Tell them that you were getting help to
remove some unauthorized hard inquiries that you didn't authorize but got
disconnected. Could you help me finish the job and thank you for your time.
1. “I noticed a few unauthorized inquiries on my credit report”
Or say
1. I noticed someone applied for something in my name, I did not authorize that.”Make them aware that according to the FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting ACT), legally
unverified & unauthorized items MUST be removed!!
List all of the accounts that are not attached to your open or closed account.
Example 1
If you have a Bank of America credit card that you opened in July 2018, and you have
an inquiry from Bank of America dated July 2019, this item cannot be deleted off.
Example 2
If you have an inquiry from America Express & you do not have an open or closed
account associated with that account, you can get it removed.
1. If they ask about you submitting an FTC/Police report of these accounts, say you
have already completed your FTC and Police Report:
- Say “I’ve filed the Police Report already, thank you. Can I now tell you which inquiries
to remove that were unauthorized inquiries now?
1. If they ask have you contacted the original creditors, say yes you have already done.
- Say “I’ve done that also; now can we please remove the unauthorized hard inquiries I
noticed that I didn’t authorize.” If they decide to place you on hold, DO NOT PANIC!
When they come back, they should say they will investigate the inquiry disputes & it
may take up to 30 days to complete the investigation. However, the following business
day, all of the inquiries you asked to get deleted should be deleted.
Disclaimer:
Equifax may take Longer, which is expected and if you notice no removals within 72
hours by Experian or TransUnion. Call to try again, key is to Not Give Up.
