The selling was the setup for the serving...🤯
So on Sunday, Apostle James gave a revelation that I had never seen before, and it had me like wooooooo... wait a minute! God is definitely in His people selling and living on the rest.
Ever thought about how Simon Peter, after the miraculous catch of fish in Luke 5, didn’t just walk away empty-handed? That wasn’t a spiritual moment only. It was also a financial breakthrough. The Bible says the catch was so massive the nets broke and the boats began to sink. That’s not just provision, that’s overflow.
Simon Peter was a businessman. He had a wife. He had a household. AND he had business partners. When the nets broke, they called for help, and the partners came to fill up their boats too. So when they brought the fish to land, you better believe that fish got sold. The partnership continued the business. The money didn’t vanish, the mission was funded.
So when the Bible says Peter “forsook all and followed Him,” that only makes sense if the “all” he left behind was enough to take care of his responsibilities. That catch was the setup that allowed him to walk into his next season FREE.
Just like the widow in 2 Kings 4 was told to “sell the oil, pay your debt, and live off the rest,” Simon Peter received a miraculous catch, sold the fish, and then lived in full obedience. Both stories show us that God funds the obedience.
Your oil isn’t just for you to survive. It’s to release you to follow the call 🤯. So if you’ve been second-guessing whether it's okay to sell what God gave you, remember this: THE SELLING WAS THE SETUP FOR THE SERVING. 🎤🤯
