Faux Finish // Wood Table
Believe it or not this table was BLACK when I started. Process: -CLEAN outdoor table of dust, grime, sap, bird droppings etc. -use palm sander to knock down top layer of table and chairs, not completely stripped just a rough up so material will grab, also good opportunity to blend out any chips or wear and tear blemishes -Client requested “warm/ butterscotch tone” to accompany other furniture and pergola across the backyard. - Base coated furniture entirely in Benjamin Moore exterior paint color Sombrero (light golden tan with a touch of olive underone; to accompany foilage) Rolled on smooth and even, brush in nooks and corners - 2 COATS -Took Behr Marquee exterior paint color Ancient Root (dark chocolate diffused brown) ….water paint down… a lot…. Roll out large sections and with a barely damp microfiber rag pull product you rolled on the surface of sections to “stain” the furniture with the paint, finish with a chip brush in long sweeps going with grain to create subtle inconsistency Thx for looking!
