From 😞 productions to DJing festivals in the desert
Today’s message is about one of our own Let me introduce my brother from Jordan - Fuad Fuad is one half of the duo Fairplay, and one of the OGs of my music-making community. When Fuad first joined us, he was struggling. His workflow? Messy. His tracks? Stuck in endless loops. His desire? Sky high His self belief? Dangerously low Bottom line he was frustrated and was getting evermore lost in the production woods and the never-ending youtube wormholes of production tutorials. "I’d convinced myself it was impossible to finish anything," he told me. At the time, Fairplay had a couple releases out But the process was slow and painful. Finishing tracks felt like a chore and our man was ready for something different. Total honesty - Fuad was actually the FIRST person to ever join me for coaching, and is one of the nicest humans I’ve met on this journey. Now, despite the pandemic madness that was going on and zero gigs in sight, Fuad decided to bet on himself and came and joined our community for warm hearted shyly ambitious electronic music makers He wanted more finished music, more releases, and a clear path forward. So what happened? Fuad went from messy garbled process to: - Organised - Confident - And consistently releasing music he likes He used the proven processes we shared with him to build what he calls his "production bible"—a set of steps he can actually follow every time he hits the studio. He used our Musicians Mindset™ Training to get out of his own way, stop obsessing and striving for perfection, and just started get sh*t done. He took advantage of the Unlimited Personal Feedback™ from me, to help understand which tracks needed more work and which didn’t And eventually he found it easier than ever before to crack the code with the right kind of labels, because he had oodles of wicked music to send. "I learned to accept the process for what it is, keep it simple, and get it done," Fuad said. Since joining us about 4 years ago, Fairplay have been involved in no less than 30 releases
